Mother Nature turned on an absolutely magnificent day for us to go walking at Arapuni. 15 residents ventured out to walk from Jones Landing to the Suspension Bridge at Arapuni. We arrived at Jones Landing by two Highfield vans at 10.15am and completed the walk at the Suspension Bridge at lunchtime. The walk itself was a mixture of flat and slight gradients with one steep pathway that certainly got the heart rate pumping. Should any of our walkers wish to do only half the planned walk , the Highfield driver and van met the walking group at the halfway point at Arapuni Dam. Being able to walk with fellow residents alongside the Waipa’s beautiful Lake Arapuni was a pleasurable way to spend the day. The walk ended at the Mangarewa Suspension Bridge at Arapuni. The bridge is 42m above water and is 80m long. A picnic lunch in a shady spot accompanied with a Rhubarb Café coffee was a perfect way to end the day.
