Highlights for 2016 have been the opening of the new Lodge – the heart of our community. This magnificent building has given residents the space and facilities to enjoy such things as regular movies in the theatre, the craft room, the gym, lounges and dining areas, dance floor, medical room, salon, Menz Shed, Indoor and Outdoor bowling facilities, Billiard area, Library with computer access and a wonderful place to relax with friends. The increase in activity choices has also been well received by residents including regular trips to town to shop or go out for coffee, regular walks, trips to shows, line dancing, bead making, art classes, singing groups, ukulele and guitar lessons, massage, tai chi, various fitness and well being classes, cards and games groups. The Lodge pool was completed and opened in December 2016, just in time for summer. We are all looking forward to 2017 and the enjoyment it will bring residents from living at Highfield.
In December 2016 the last villas were completed and by January 2017, all 116 villas are occupied. It has been an amazing journey from opening the village in November 2012 – Stage 1, to construction completion. Over the next few months we will be busy finishing the landscaping, constructing the RV Park and community garden.
